Young Film Academy courses are excellent for young people. They get a taste of the craft of filmmaking, in all departments and I was astonished by the speed at which they learned.
The skills that the students learn during the day are also used for later assignments within the curriculum. Students are easily able to apply these techniques and create films to support class texts or topics. In addition, the teachers use the skills that they learn through observation in other classes, including IB A1
This was an amazing day which the students really enjoyed. They had the chance to work together and integrate as a group and produced great films at the end, putting all they had learned into practice.
Special thanks to Craig, Dan and Tina for co-ordinating a terrific party, where the kids were able to let rip their imagination and catch it on camera. The kids were fascinated learning about lines of action, the 180 degree rule, reverse shots and all sorts. The whole day was loads of fun and you have inspired the next generation of film-makers!
We had a great screening and look forward to sharing the videos with the other parents now.
During the day, time management, team work and reflective creativity were all addressed to great effect, tremendous educational benefits in terms of personal learning and thinking skills
